The life and times of Harriet Terri Faley

My apologies it has taken so long to update the blog but i have a huge selection of pictures of Harriet over the first few weeks of her life.
Harriet is now 5 weeks old and she is a very very very BIG girl. Not too big though! At 3 weeks Harriet was weighed by the nurse and she was 12lb 6ozs at that point. We have really noticed her getting bigger and becoming more of a little person than a tot, if that makes sense.
Harriet has had many visitors over her first few weeks but none came from as far as her special Auntie Katherine who came from Kentucky and brought her so much designer baby wear I am going to have to buy a new bigger house to fit it all in. Katherine brought some great news of her own too which we were all so happy to hear, Caroline her daughter is expecting a baby in april so we will be looking forward to Harriet meeting her American cousin soon
So without further withdue I bring you more pictures of Harriet.
We will promise to get better at updating this site so keep it on your list of favourites.

Settling in
Well it has been awhile since i posted last, no prizes for guessing why!
Harri has been just amazing, she is everything i could have asked for and more. She is so funny, i can sit there for hours and just watch her funny faces.
We are staying at Janna's parents house for the moment until Janna recovers. Janna needs to rest and get herself back to normal. Easier said than done with a newborn but everyone in the Conways has been so supportive and so helpful in everyway!
Carmel i dont know how to repay you for the help and support.
Janna and Auntie Emily brought Harri out to see me in work the other day, which was great because i was missing her terribly and I got to see her for a few minutes, which really brightened up my day.
Anyway here is a few more photos on Harri's visit to her Daddy's office.
More to come........................................

2 days old

I was still a little shattered in this photo after the 36 hours sittting on a steel chair but everytime i look at her, she absolutley amazes me. I cant stop staring at her. Apologies for the sideways photo I am a blogtard.
GranMa Carmel gives Jannas and myself a break and minds Harri for a few minutes. Carmel has been amazing helping us and giving us advice about looking after our new pride and joy. No tto mention the Miccy Ds i get brought to me at the hospital!Wednesday, 15 August 2007
A time for prayers, recovery and joy!

So on Sunday morning Janna was admitted to Holles Street Hospital for induction. We landed on the door step at half seven so we could get started early. We got settled and calmed ourselves for what would turn out to 36 hours of raw emotion and no sleep. It was the most terrific experience of my life and also one of the worst things in my life to see my wife in such pain.
Harriet Terri Faley was born at 13.50 on the 13th August 2007 by emergency c-section.
She weighed in at a whopping 10lbs and 9ozs and 22 inches long no wonder we needed a c section!
Janna is still in recovery but is coming along nicely. To say that I am eternally grateful to all the staff in Holles Street in an understatement. The Doctors, Nurses and the Housekeepers, all of them make your life just that little more pleasant during difficult times.
Now for the moment you have all been waiting for, little(not so little) Harriet's debut on her own blog.

Time to show myself
So Harriet has still not decided when is the right time to show her face yet and she is 11 days overdue. Myself and Janna went to our Doctor yesterday to discuss our options. Basically unless Harriet decides to grace us with her presence between now and Sunday the doctor has decided at that point we will try and induce her. If that is not succesful a c section will take place on Tuesday. So it will be a long hard weekend for the faley household but the benefits will be very evident at the latest of Tuesday. More to follow.........

Anxious times
Harriet is now 9 days overdue! Things are getting a little anxious with her mother but I am a firm believer in when she is ready to come she will come, that being said I have not carried her for the last 40 weeks! Janna and I are meeting with the doctor in the morning to find out if it will be necessary for her to be induced or to be delivered by c-section. Our doctor does not usually let his patients go past 14 days when overdue so there shall definitely be a plan of action when we leave his office tomorrow.
More tomorrow........

Waiting for Harri
I set this blog up for my daughter so that she will be able to keep a diary for herself throughout the years.
Since Harriet is not born yet I suppose it up to me to give you a quick background about who Harri is!
My name is John and my wife's name is Janna and we are Harri's parents. Harri is overdue now by 5 days so we are anxiously waiting her arrival any day now.
I will keep this blog updated until Harri is old enough to do it herself with pictures and stories about whats going on in Harri's life.
I hope you all enjoy watching Harri grow up as much as i will! Pictures to follow!
